Hucclecote Model Railway Show

At Hucclecote Methodist Church

The Wedding Scene - Vincent Tweed

It is a beautiful summer’s day – the perfect day for a vintage style wedding. The vows have been said, the rings exchanged, the register signed. The happy couple now assemble for a few photographs outside the recently re-roofed Sussex village church of St. Michael’s with its meticulously kept churchyard. The guests are leaving for the reception venue which is a former mansion house now used for special occasions and as a luxury hotel.

Both the bride and groom along with many of the guests are vintage vehicle enthusiasts, as is evident from the cars and, also, the classic Bentley S1 Continental Fastback and Daimler DS420 providing transport for the wedding party, whilst the preserved 1947 Southdown Leyland PS1/1 bus with ECW coachwork will take some of the guests to the reception. The two cars are supplied by “Special Days” limousine hire and the bus by Chris Pearce of “Southdown Historic Vehicles” from Worthing.

I was given the Oxford Structures church building and added the other scenic items from various suppliers. As I am running out of storage space at home for my many dioramas, I wanted to create something compact, but still retaining detail. This is the result and the revolving turntable allows you, the viewer, to observe it from all angles.
